Painting with light

A few years ago video artistes have been trying to move away from the TV screen to showcase their work. Bigger and better multimedia projectors paved the way for visual artistes use any physical surface as their canvas and video mapping was born.

Early video mapping artistes had to painstakingly photograph surfaces and physically align projectors create a perfect mapping of visuals. Today video mapping has evolved where many software and hardware devices are available at lesser costs for artistes everywhere to explore the endless possibilities with this technique.

There are many applications for video mapping, from art installations to musical shows and everyday we are able to see better and even more surprising executions turn up from around world. Seeing the advancement in technology and the growing interest in the art we know that video mapping is here to stay.
